This paper is for foreigners learning Korean for academic purpose to effectively write self-introduction letter for entering school. This paper is for education of writing self-introduction letter with genre-based writing approach that hopefully leads to successful communication in discourse situation in Korean. Self-introduction letter for school entrance is to introduce and promote oneself with third-person-observer point of view and succeed in the admission to a school. Genre characteristic of self-introduction letter is that it is in interactive relation between the situation of school entrance, admission officer as a reader, applicant as a writer and text as a self-introduction letter. Writing a self-introduction letter contains significant value but the teaching and studying is poor in reality. With the educator explicit good text models and teaching leaners to well identify the characteristic of language, genre-based writing approach is a way to achieve proper writing in comparatively short time. I analyzed genre characteristic of the self-introduction letter with two genre-based writing approaches, system function language and English for specific purpose. In system function language, text is grammatically analyzed and the form of text is emphasized. On the other hand, English for specific purpose is aimed for the successful communication of learners through the relation between text and context. Both genre theories meet in that their goal is successful communication by proper context for the discourse situation in this paper. I categorized the genre characteristic of self-introduction letter in Korean by the resisters of system function language, field, tenor and mode. To analyze actual 50 pieces of self-introduction letters, based on genre theory, I reconstructed genre analysis criteria by evaluation criteria of writing. The reconstructed genre analysis is formed with contents, constructer, expression and functional aspect. With these analysis criteria, some special aspects of writing could be found. Teaching and learning self-introduction letter should include these aspects as a reference and those are reflected for the model of teaching and learning with genre-based approach. In the following paragraph, based on the analysis of these aspects, model for the education of writing will be built. Most genre-based model have circulation model of contextualization, modeling, joint negotiating and writing. This paper is based on the genre-based writing model, which is reconstruction of Feez¡¯s by Hyland. It emphasizes the direct participation of teachers. Also, it is known for specifying teacher¡¯s role in each step and illustrating various educational activities. This model designed teaching-studying model for self-introduction letter and resulted in effective class instruction. In conclusion, genre characteristic of self-introduction letter is significant in that aspects of writing could be identified with it and it could support the effective teaching method in writing.

And it's very practical in that it's for employment purposes. However, the purpose depends on where the professor focuses.Consider the fact that the university's writing lectures are for first graders, that the contents of the textbook are for senior students, and that the number of ¡°self-introduction letters' in actual classes is less frequent. In the end, we need a self-introduction guide plan for lower grades. Therefore, I thought that guidance on self-introduction for low-grade students was necessary, and I would like to record and share this process.Self-introduction letters for lower grades require self-exploration. To solve this problem, one must explain one's past and present with words and events. Next, I wrote ¡°Self-History Timeline'. Students can explain their stories in detail through this process. In particular, it accurately identifies areas of interest, advantages and disadvantages, and improvements. This step for lower grades is very helpful in understanding oneself and writing your own narratives.And I was able to understand myself through ¡°Five Events of My Life' and ¡°Job Search'. Also, I was able to explore myself by connecting my major and interests with my job. This process is meaningful in that it worked as a practical tool to help learners understand themselves and write their own self-narratives.Freshmen in the pandemic era are bound to feel insecure about their studies and careers. Therefore, self-introduction education through self-understanding and reflection is necessary. It is hard to say that we have provided meaningful results to all learners due to the problem of learning time. This paper suggests a self - introduction writing teaching-learning model based on movie contents. In the past, the category of ¡®writing a self-introduction¡¯ was recognized as a writing activity that included both reflective writing and practical writing. However, such convergence purpose lies in a structure that is difficult to realize in the current writing education.The purpose of this paper is to develop teaching-learning contents in the context of ¡®self-reflection¡¯ which can be considered as the preceding step in writing a self-introduction writing. For the learners who don¡¯t know what to write right now, ¡®self-exploration¡¯ provides a reflective opportunity to examine themselves as well as a material for writing a self-introduction.Through the ¡®others reading¡¯ activity, which explores the meaning and qualities of heros in the Marvel narrative, the learner can develop the ability to communicate empathically and appropriately by reading the words of others¡¯ narrative. Also using them as a mirror, they take an opportunity to look at ¡®self¡¯.In addition, this plan will not only create an opportunity for ¡®development of autobiographical contents¡¯ but also have a good writing material in the context of lack of writing material.

In this study, the reality of self-introduction education in university writing education was identified through the topic of self-introduction in the writing textbook of the hub national university. Four stages of preparation, writing, example, and exercise were divided into four sections to examine the problems of the self-introduction item. In the preparation stage, the lack of explanation for the genre and explanation for the pre-survey were cited as problems. In the preparation stage, declarative writing techniques and specific written methods were identified as problems. A description of the concept and genre characteristics of the self-introduction should be systematically presented to plan during the preparation stage. Data surveys should systematically present the importance of pre-survey, the method of pre-survey, and the method of utilizing the results. The stage of writing, the stage of illustrative examples, and the stage of exercise questions form an integrated configuration. The writing stage should specifically provide an analysis of the question intention and the writing method by questions. At the stage of the illustrative examples, a variety of best examples should be experienced. And at the stage of the exercise question, practical and stepwise exercise question are experienced. Therefore, efficient self-introduction writing education should be pursued.

This research develops an instrument for resolving difficulties of contents creation and selection, suggests writing guide to utilize the instrument, and confirms the effects of it based on the results of current state analysis on a letter of self-introduction writing.First of all, the study figured out that writing assignments require qualifications of an applicant and the creation of appropriate contents is the most difficult element of writing production by analyzing the current state of writing a letter of self-introduction. Next, the study developed a ¡®qualification dictionary¡¯ and a ¡®table of analysis questions¡¯ as the instruments of overcoming the difficulty of students as it considered the characteristics of self-introduction assignments. Lastly, the research ascertained the effects of writing guide utilizing analysis questions. The study verified writing results by comparing two groups. After first writing, the experimental group made a qualification dictionary, completed analysis questions, and then did second writing. The comparison group, on the other hand, did second writing as copy writing referring to examples. The change of writing results in the experimental group suggested that the qualification dictionary and the table of analysis questions had been utilized to create meaningful contents. According to the results of the analysis of the participants in the experimental group, those participants could overcome the difficulties of contents creation which they had faced on the writing production and also, they could raise the level of self-understanding. The change did not appear in the comparison group, or it appeared partially but the contents differed from those of the experimental group.

Even though a previous research study found that a letter of self-introduction helps students find their true self and establish their self-identity, teaching students how to write such a letter as part of academic writing has proved to be difficult. This study focuses on writing a cover letter or a letter of self-introduction. This study is important because writing a cover letter not only has educational value in courses on academic writing, but also is essential for students to find employment. An analysis of teaching and learning cases shows that students are apprehensive of the theories that are important in a course on academic writing, and they find self-identity through writing a cover letter in the subject of college writing. Consequently, this study proves the educational value of writing a cover letter, and students should practice writing cover letters and receive feedback in the classroom. This study provides an opportunity to ponder on and find a better way to teach students how to write a cover letter or letter of self-introduction in the subject of college writing.

This article is Research of curriculum for practical writing. There are no sufficient study and discussion of practical writing. But, society ask for practical writing repeatedly. This contradictory situation is due to the prejudice of practical writing This article gets out of the prejudice of practical writing and sets its sight on building scientific curriculum. The practical writing seeks not only practical effect but also self-examination and providing a blueprint for the future. Seeking practical effect is communication. Then, the first thing we have to do is know who you are to write is to a letter of self-introduction which is a typical example of practical writing. Hence, within limits, we can express ourself to others effectively. This process confirm the meaning of being inherent self-examination in a letter of self-introduction. Furthermore, when we keep up our curriculum build on this, the road map of campus life is means a great deal. This is means a great deal not only campus life but also constructing life plan. Organized letter of self-introduction centers about this process. Especially, this process improves the capability of writing paper and the ability to express for selection key words and structured capacity.
