To accomplish this study's goal, in Chapter II, after examining various studies and literacy that define the Hangul apprehensibility, I have concluded to define it as that children can read and write Hangul and its sound correspondingly by figuring out the structure of Hangul, on the basis of emergent literacy. And after investigating the actual conditions of Hangul apprehensibility education, I found the problem that instructions on Hangul apprehensibility are not made systematically. In Chapter III, I discussed the elements constituting Hangul apprehensibility, the data that can measure it and the factors that can measure each element. Hangul apprehensibility, in reading sphere, means 'seeing and finding', 'hearing and finding' and 'seeing and speaking out'. In writing sphere, it includes 'writing after the letter', 'seeing and writing' and 'dictating'. There is another sphere of the knowledge of the Korean language that one figures out and utilizes the structure of Hangul. To measure this Hangul apprehensibility, as measuring data I selected those which children can easily access to around their daily life. And I designated to 'obstacles' the things that they have difficulty in to comprehend Hangul, and categorized measuring data by 5 difficulty degrees, depending on the number of the obstacles. The following are the obstacles against Hangul apprehensibility which are used to categorize the measuring data. ; the second stroke added letter(the plosive) ¤» ¤¼ ¤½ ¤º ¤¾, the double letter(the fortis) ¤¢ ¤¨ ¤³ ¤¹ ¤¶, the restarting letter(the diphthong) ¤Ë ¤Á ¤Ð ¤Å, the synthesized vowel(the diphthong) ¤È ¤Í, the first 'l' ligature ¤Ò ¤Ê ¤À ¤Ï ¤Ä, the second 'l' ligature ¤Â¤Æ ¤É ¤Î, the number of syllable and consonant. Also I abstracted detailed measuring elements that can measure the elements constituting the Hangul apprehensibility. In Chapter IV, I arranged for 12 detailed methods of measuring the Hangul apprehensibility. And I classified the Hangul apprehensibility in 5 degrees according to levels and made it clear in detail. Base on this, the measuring tool of the Hangul apprehensibility was made and appended.

This paper makes the case that the concept of Hangeul's excellence can be expanded to include previous discussions on its originality and scientific qualities. Using this expanded concept, this paper comprehensively analyzes the current curriculum (which stipulates that the excellence of Hangeul be taught in the sixth grade of elementary school and the originality of Hangeul be taught in high school), critically evaluates problematic areas, and presents alternatives.Scientific qualities, originality, practicality, and usefulness were selected as four elements of Hangeul's excellence. For each of the four elements, four types of qualities were examined to produce a total of 16 characteristics of excellence. Based on an investigation of the actual characteristics of Hangeul's excellence, this paper shows why Koreans need to discuss Hangeul's excellence.By presenting the context of Hangeul's excellence, this paper establishes and gives significance to the theoretical and practical basis for the education on Hangeul's excellence and originality.

The foreground job suggests and executes agent's advice while user edits his document in real time. In the mean time, the background job analyzes users usage patterns, finds repetitive patterns, extracts rule of IF-THEN type, and stores them in a knowledge base upon user's approval. In order to perform these tasks, the interface agent must find users usage patterns. It is not easy to observe user's working environment when existing application does not have agent functionality. The purpose of this research is to implement a monitoring module to observe user's working environment, and to extract rules describing the user's typical usage patterns. Open Sesame for Macintosh OS and MSWord97 exhibit similar functionality to our interface agent, but MSWord97 offers the same service to all users. On the other hand, our interface agent can be characterized by offering a customized service to each user.

Mentioning the Hangeul songs is to call songs for celebrating or commemorating Hangeul. Today, one of the most famous Hangeul songs is ¡®Song of Hangeul Day¡¯(Çѱ۳¯ ³ë·¡). This study is to research the history of how this song was settled among the public. The results are as follows: (1) There were various Hangeul songs before Korea"s independence from Imperialist Japan; most eminently ¡®Song of the Letters" Day¡¯(±Û ³¯ ³ë·¡), where the lyrics were written by Illo(ÀÏ·Î). (2) The first Hangeul song written right after the independence was ¡®Hangeul Song¡¯(ÇÑ±Û ³ë·¡) where Lee Geukro(À̱طÎ) wrote the lyrics and Chae Dongseon(䵿¼±) composed the music. It was a song designated as an official ceremony song, from 1946 Hangeul Day anniversary. (3) As Lee Geukro crossed over into North Korea and Korean War was broken out, his ¡®Hangeul Song¡¯ was avoided in South Korea. That was the time when Choe Hyeonbae(ÃÖÇö¹è) made ¡®Song of Hangeul¡¯(ÇѱÛÀÇ ³ë·¡) as an alternative. (4) Although there exist historical records that ¡®Song of Hangeul¡¯ where the words were written by Choe Hyeonbae and the music was composed by La Unyeong(³ª¿î¿µ) was sung from 1951 to 1953, some curiosity is not solved about the facts. (5) By 1954, it became popular to sing ¡®Song of Hangeul¡¯ of Choe Hyeonbae"s words and Park Taehyeon(¹ÚÅÂÇö)"s music. This song was adopted in the 1st textbook designation(Feb. 1959) as the title of ¡®Hangeul Song¡¯(ÇÑ±Û ³ë·¡) and also adopted in the 4th textbook designation(Mar. 1983) as the title of ¡®Song of Hangeul Day¡¯(Çѱ۳¯ ³ë·¡). For this reason, the song became popular among today"s general public. (6) Meanwhile, Lee Byeonggi(À̺´±â) wrote the lyrics and La Unyeong composed the music of ¡®Hangeul Proclamation 500th Anniversary Song¡¯(ÇÑ±Û ¹ÝÆ÷ ¿À¹é³â ±â³ä°¡) in 1946 when it is the 500th year since proclamation of the alphabet.

I introduced the Hangeul(ÇѱÛ) register of male and female servants of Sangjoo Hwang"s family in this paper. I deciphered and glossed old Korean sentences of this servants family register. This manuscript is the first and unique as a servants family register wroted in Korean. There are no servants family register which wroted in Korean down through the Choseon period. I assumed that Hwang jing who was son of Hwang ieehwan made out this servants family register and sent to his wife Mrs. Cheonju Lee. This assumptions are entirely derived from the following some facts; contents of servants family register, the achievements of Hwang jing"s lifetime and family relations recorded in Sangjoo Hwang family register. By the way, peoples of Choseon dynasty could not submit to government office a Hangeul document. So this Hangeul register is not a public document but a kind of private document. I guessed that Hwang jing made out this Hangeul servants family register for his wife Mrs. Cheonju Lee who could read Hangeul document. The significances of this Hangeul servants family register from the viewpoint of Korean language history are summarize as follows. First, this servants family register was recorded by Hangeul letter. Second, a person"s name and the place"s name[geographical name] of this document have some interesting points in the respect of Hangeul notation.
