Recent views in the field of cognitive science highlight the sociocultural influence on human development. In order to explore the meaning of talent in the visual arts perceived in the contemporary Korean sociocultural context, this paper first examines the perceptions of artistic talent of secondary art teachers and art professionals who support the practice of artists in diverse art institutions. Then it compares the perceptions of educators to those of art professionals. This is followed by a discussion of the educational implications.The result of the perception comparison between art teachers and art professionals reveals that the biggest difference is in the scope of what characterizes artistic talent. Whereas art teachers tend to perceive artistic talent as being limited to the personal ability to develop one¡¯s visual expression, art professionals consider it as the social ability to find one¡¯s own way to establish a personally significant position in the art world.This implies that there are different sociocultural influences in the domains of education and art. The limited perception of art teachers implies that the current education system cannot effectively support the artistic talent that students are developing through a wide range of intellectual explorations in diverse social contexts. This paper¡¯s exploration of the meaning of talent in the visual arts perceived in the Korean sociocultural context today constitutes a meaningful effort to extend educators¡¯ views on talent in the visual arts.

The purpose of this study is to empirically analyze the needs of talent evaluation indicators to identify the capabilities and qualities of Army officers in order to create a future talent-based development and management environment for the Army. In order to achieve the purpose of the study, through the review of prior research and gathering expert opinions, the talent index for Army officials was derived. Based on the index, the questionnaire was constructed for need analysis of talent indicators. Survey data were collected from 521 Army officers. Need analysis was conducted by t-test, Borich's fomular, and LFF model. The findings are as follows. First, there were 14 out of 42 talent evaluation indicators with high priorities. Second, seven talent evaluation indicators are required across all classes. Third, some of the talent evaluation indicators are differed by the class. Based on these findings, some discussions and implications were presented.

Current methodologies and technologies do nat enable us to state beyond doubt whether observed differences in musical ability in individuals are the sole result of genetic inheritance, learning or an interaction between the two. Instead, musical characteristics of individual should be viewed as compound of nature and nurture dimension.This study examined concepts that are related to musical ability; music aptitude, achievement, intelligence, performing skills and creativity. Foundlings from musical ability related studies suggest that any one concept or measure can not represent or explain whole characteristics of individual. One's musical ability should be found, understood and developed through experiences and educational environment.

In this study we study Krutetskii and Krutetskii's monograph 'The Psychology of Mathematical Abilities in Schoolchidren' which is published in Russia(in Russian) and USA(in English). We describe Krutetskii's biography briefly, which was not published in Korea. We analyze the methods, procedures, and results which are presented in the Krutetskii' work, and systemize these. Our study will give a overview of Krutetskii' viewpoint about mathematical abilities.

With the level of curiosity rising about the social responsibility of Design, designers and companies practice ¡®sharing¡¯ through their talent donation. Way of donating by design has to be considered because it has not defined although interests and activities are very active. On this study, we defined social function of design and stereotyped design talent donation through case studies related to ¡®design donating¡¯. Volunteering in the design has been divided 8 types based on how to participate into donation. Way of design donating can be classified into direct donation and indirect donation. According to subject who support design resources to the needy and recipient, It can be categorized D to P(from designers to individual), D to S (from designer to society or organization), O to P(from various groups to individual) and O to P(from various organization to social groups). Direct donation is more active than indirect donation for now. Direct donation can be sustained rather than indirect donation and indirect donation has more capability of communication with other people for the projects. More activities on volunteering in the design would be activated and developed with new classification of design skilled volunteer.

[ÇØ¿Ü³í¹®]

Very few of studies related 'talent donation' existed in spite of public attention. The situation led me no choice but to begin as a subordinate position in the field of traditional volunteering. Music college students could have great opportunities to participate a 'talent donation', due to an education by focusing on practical techniques comparing with fields of theory. However, there were difficulties to putting an action in regards to lack of information and systematic supports. For that reasons, the purpose of this study was exploring paths to 'talent donation' by providing information and data to music college students. This study analyzed current status of perception and participation regarding to voluntary work through the various research of studies. With all the gathering informations, finding possible solutions could be a prior significance of this study. Definition of 'talent donation' and analogues would be placed in first, and common factors and indisputable issues appearing from previous studies would be readjusted next. Various examples related with talent donation for music major students were introduced by the categories of government department, local autonomous entities and private music organizations for disabled persons. With these materials, I hope that it would help music major students look for a shortcut to talent donation.
