This paper proposes a research framework for the empirical analysis of good governance, particularly at the local level. It first reviews existing literature on local governance and discusses basic conceptual issues on local good governance. It then criticizes and sheds light on the limits of empirical studies on good governance indicators. It then provides an analytic framework on local good governance and key indicators, guidelines and hypotheses to be utilized for future empirical research. The finally illustrates the utility of the framework by applying it to two successful cases of local governance in South Korea.

The main aim of this paper is to be understood what is the research integrity , what is the relationship to the research ethics. Research integrity is defined it as that all researchers should obey in doing desirable research activities. It is not to be confused with research ethics. These two terms share some commonality, yet the main difference lies in substance. Research ethics usually pertains to issues related to the decisions about, or treatment practice of, humans in research. But research integrity deals with the question of truth and honesty in science, as well as complying with commonly accepted research practices beholden to the research community.I examined also the concept and problems of the plagiarism and the redundant publication as the representative type of the research misconduct, suggested the right way of citation and peer review as effective approaches to overcome them. To avoid the deliberate or undeliberate attempt to plagiarize and self-plagiarize, researchers should use proper amount of quotations, which means other's work should be cited when it used and their work should not be filled with quotations. If one uses too many quotations or does not give credit in accordance with the accepted fair practices of the relevant research community in their creative work written on the basis of their own or another's work, this constitutes plagiarism. I also stressed the importance of the right citation because the citation, I thought, was one of effective ways to avoid the plagiarism.

Developmental coordination disorder(DCD) is characterized by being detected in the period of childhood and its prevalence in school age is 6%. DCD is accompanied with some types of learning disorder such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder(ADHD), developmental dyslexia, reading disability, and special language impairment and may negatively affect on emotional development of the children.Therefore, it is necessary to study the relationship between DCD and some types of learning disorder. The purpose of this study is to summarize the domestic and abroad papers that DCD has relation with some leaning disorders, and to suggest the conclusion resulting from evidence-based research for the treatment and education of the child of developmental disability.

This study tried to find out the reason why early childhood teachers made turnover in their job using the qualitative research method. Three teachers who already left the job were asked some questions. Several findings were summarized as follows. Early childhood teachers left their job because of their thought on no vision in the job, society's different viewpoints on their job, personal need for more study and new job, conflicts with child care director, co-workers, and parents, low and negative social image on the job, and not so good condition for the work. These factors made early childhood teachers leave from the field of early childhood education. Therefore, child care centers need to allow early childhood teachers more happier condition for the job in order for them to make positive interaction with young children.

Considering the scientific and resource value of wetlands, studies on wetlands here and abroad have been on the rise. In Korea in particular, wetlands have drawn considerable attention after the country joined the 1997 RAMSAR convention. Local geomorphologists have only begun to study wetlands from the geomorphological viewpoint, yet several research results have been reported despite such short period. Nonetheless, there are still many tasks to be solved in the future. The research results may be summarized as follows:First, basic concepts including defining or classifying wetlands are not yet in place. A wetland defining and classifying system that suits Korea is required. Second, in terms of geography, Korea?s wetlands may be divided into inland wetlands and coastal wetlands. Inland wetlands can be further divided into river wetlands and mountain wetlands, and coastal wetlands, into littoral wetlands and estuarine wetlands. Nonetheless, more studies and discussions are required regarding this matter. Third, most of the research activities carried out by local geomorphologists involved inland mountain wetlands, whereas some studies dealt with the littoral wetlands of the coast. Therefore, more diversified research activities on wetlands are required. Fourth, wetlands are important national land resources that should not only be preserved but also utilized efficiently; hence the need for active research on wetlands.

Purpose: This paper focuses on the backgrounds, main contents, and characteristics of the revised guideline for securing of research ethics that allow the researcher and research ethics administrators to understand it well and to properly apply policies. Methods: This revised guideline for securing of research ethics is an amalgamation of comments of research ethics experts, web surveys, public hearings, and forum results by many researchers on the draft of revised guideline. Results: The revised guideline for securing of research ethics manifestation policies ordered by the Ministry of Education has been reformed on November 3, 2015. Conclusion: The guideline for securing of research ethics directed by the Ministry of Education is not only a way of establishing research ethics governance and exhibiting ethics adherence, but also a way of promoting awareness of ethics embedded in the full process of research.

The study intends to reflect and describe qualitative research experiences. For this purpose the study focuses on biographical research experiences on the process of social movements of Korean female migrant workers in Germany. This experiences are analyzed from a post-modern perspective. A research proposal is drawn up and submitted without cooperation of research participants. And then, due to the one-sided direction of the relationship established, the participants recognized the researcher as a ¡®cultural intruder¡¯.Later on, an interactive relationship between the researcher and the participants is formed and they became ¡®cultural colleagues¡¯ and ¡®friends¡¯. As a result of this process, mutual understanding about the oneself, the others and society are spreaded and deepened.Based on these results, some implications for exploration of directions and frames of reference for qualitative research in social welfare are suggested.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of public governance in the United Kingdom and Japan in terms of intersectional relations and configuration of governance and then to provide policy implications for public governance innovation in South Korea. In order toexamine the characteristics of public governance and operational mechanism in a country, it is necessary to review intersectional relations and the hierarchical system of each sector in the configuration of governance. After that, it is useful to utilize the configurational approach in examining the characteristics of overall configuration and operational principles in a country.Accordingly, this study examines the type of government, the relationship between the central government and its subgovernments including public bodies, local governments and their subunits, which includes public bodies, intergovernmental relations, the type of public bodies, and the relationship of public bodies in the central government and local governments. In doingso, it should be possible to figure out the characteristics of public governance and operational mechanisms in the United Kingdom and Japan. Based on the findings, policy implications will be provided for public governance innovation in South Korea.

This study examines the effects of Corporate Governance on Credit Ratings and Cost of capital. Prior research suggests that good governance helps reduce firm's agency costs arising from conflict of interests between management and ownership. These suggest that corporate governance is likely to affect credit ratings and cost of capital of firms.We find that the corporate governance has a positive effect on the credit ratings. The results reveal that good governance and foreign investors is positively associated with the credit ratings. This indicates that good governance and foreign investors positively affect the credit quality of firms by enhancing the transparency of firms.We also find that both good governance and credit ratings are associated with a lower cost of capital. This indicates that good governance and credit rankings are reducing information risk for users of financial statements so that reduce firm's cost of capital in the market.This study contributes to suggest an empirical model to analyze the Corporate Governance with Credit ratings and Cost of capital. In sum, the results show that good corporate governance has positive effect on the credit ratings but negative effect on the cost of capital.

This paper reviews the topics and methodologies of the 334 papers published in the journal, ¡°Health and Social Science¡± for the last 20 years. We conducted classical quantitative content analysis and topic modeling using Structural Topic Model (STM) to identify the topics. The findings of this study were summarized as follows: (1) the social epidemiology research has steadily been increased while the studies on the health-related institutions and policies has been dropped, (2) the quantitative research had grown and consisted of 84% of the total studies by 2012 and dropped to 65%. Throughout the period, the researches on physicians, patients, and hospitals were rarely conducted. The lack of studies on the diseases and the limitations of data collection were remained as one of the major problems to be solved.

This thesis presents railroad crew rostering problem, which is to determine the railroad plan allocation. This problem is constructed that determine the sequence of duties that railroad crews have to perform. We analyze characteristic of this problem and railroad industry. It's hard to consider many constraint conditions. We propose Integer Programming model and easy methodology to be considered all given operation rules. This problem is known to be NP-hard. We develop a genetic algorithm, which is proved to be powerful in solving optimization problems. We tested the model and algorithm and showed the effectiveness through comparison of previous research.
