There are insufficient models that find problems and solutions for accident prevention through risk assessment and suggest safe work process and work instruction from foundation works to finish work for accident decrease. This paper presents a quantitative risk assessment model by analysis of risk factors in each process such as earth works, drainage works, pavement works, appurtenant works and etc based on accident examples and investigation on actual condition in roads construction work. In addition, the safety management system was developed to perform risk assessment of construction and use it for effective safety training for labor.

SONICS is the software developed by authors. The program provides the noise level in outdoors due to various noise source types : construction machines including blast sources, railroad vehicles and automobiles. h operates in the Windows system. Since the software is compiled by using Visual C++ 4.0, users can run the program interactively. Also SONICS uses Windows' dialog-box and choice-button so that a novice user can easily implement the program for the environmental noise planning.

Since construction projects have various work processes, complicated structures in these property, the necessity for unified control, organic and efficient is required urgently. A construction project, one of the production business by ordering system with the characteristics of very large scale and diversified function, requires the development of integrated construction information management system. Information exchange in construction projects is formed of each document which was made in this process inefficiently and caused the production of poor quality. In the meantime, Geographic Information System (GIS) can integrate attribute data as graphic picture and statistical value, and also can process various kinds of information on geography, environment, urban, and zone systematically. It can continuously analyze the spatial information in terms of insertion, save, process, and search by the characteristics of target site. Therefore, GIS ensures the reduction of data repetition, the integration of data, the increase of efficient practice operations for construction projects. This study develops a GIS based information management system for construction projects, which enables managing construction information with accurate and no overlapped data, communicating information through fast process, analysing the similar project in the near future with ease, and integrating and investigating the information efficiently. In addition, this research is focused on the efficient information management system corresponding to the information requirements effectively for the decision making in terms of systemizing the information utilized in real world as a certain type. The following conclusions were made in this thesis; First, the problems on the current information management system for construction projects were investigated through the literature survey as well as the interviews to decision makers and executive managers of companies. Second, the information management system was developed based on analyzing user requirements and its applicability was tested through the case studies. Third, the data integrated on the GIS based information management system for construction projects became the quantitative data in the analysis of information at the similar projects for the near future. Fourth, visualization of drawing, photograph, reports, and maintenance information would provide decision makers and executive managers with comprehensive understanding effectively.
