New product development is one of the most important activities in the firm. And there have been many studies for new product success, but most studies have static perspectives. This study suggests evolutionary process perspective in which the accumulated capability through new product development process affects the performance of subsequent product development. To explain the accumulation of capability, studies on organizational learning and organizational capability are reviewed. There are three questions to answer. First is how the organizational memory proficiency of new product development activity affects the increase of product development capability. Second is how the relationship between the organizational memory proficiency and the product development capability is contingent on the type of new product. Third is how the increase of product development capability affects the performance of subsequent product development. This research questions are studied with literature review, statistical analysis of surveyed data, and case study. The statistical analysis is undertaken to test the hypothesized relationships among the organizational memory proficiency, product development capability, new product type, and the performance of subsequent product development. Data are collected from 34 firms which won the IR52 prize. Correlation analysis, Fisher's Z-test, and Kruskal-Wallis test are employed to test the main hypotheses and further analyses. The major findings are summarized as follows: First, the higher the organizational memory proficiency is, the higher the degree of accumulation in organizational resource, market opportunity exploration capability, R&D capability, new product sale capability, and communication capability is. Second, the relationship between the organizational memory proficiency and the production capability is stronger in imitative product development, while the relationship between the organizational memory proficiency and the R&D capability is stronger in creative product development. Third, the higher the degree of accumulation in R&D capability and project management capability, the higher the technological performance of subsequent product development is. Finally, some managerial implications and limitations of this study are described and future research directions are suggested.

Daeduk R&D Cluster is one of the most important clusters in korea, which consists of four regional strategic industries: 1) bio-technology, 2) information and communication, 3) intelligent robots, and 4) high frequency materials and parts. This research presents status and characteristics of R&D activities and technology demands for each of strategic industries, based on survey and analysis about what kind of technologies each of companies in the cluster need to develop, how much resources they require to prepare, and what kind of relationships with research institutes and universities they collaborate to make for those developments. The analysis results say that those companies have the following features of research and development demands: 1) the higher capability of technology innovation, 2) the majority of upcoming needs to developing new technologies/products/processes, 3) the higher performance of technology commercialisation, and 4) the intensive support of government- sponsored research institutes and universities for technology development. The result we propose here will be able to be used as a basis in order to make supporting plans and policies of SME(Small-to-Medium) size companies by regional and/or national governments.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to develop and validate a school-based learning consulting model.Design/methodology/data/approach: A model was developed based on the ADDIE program developing model. The literature review of this paper looks at the concept, process, model of school based consultation, and student learning difficulties. A needs survey was conducted with 42 school teachers. And to validate the school-based learning consulting model developed in this paper, a pilot test was implemented for four months at an elementary school in Pusan. To verify the effects of its implementation, a MANCOVA was conducted. Afterwards, the model was modified and supplemented through feedback from the students (clients) and the teachers (consulters), and from the results of the pre-test and post-test conducted via intervention. Results: The result of the implementation was that the mean scores of the experimental group increased slightly and a statistically significant difference could be seen within the control group that received a neutral intervention. A final model was completed with the verification process of content validity by experts' comments and a review based on a focus group interview.Value: This school-based learning consulting model is expected to have a support system based on a collaborative relationship between experts (consultants) and teachers in a public school. That support system will allow for diagnosis and interventions to address students' psychological, adaptive, and behavioral problems related to learning.

Global biopharmaceutical sales are expected to increase by 5% p.a. over the next five years approaching US$20 billion by 2004. Biopharmaceuticals include recombinant proteins, genetically engineered vaccines; therapeutic monoclonal antibodies; and nucleic acid based therapeutics, including gene therapy vectors. The information from genomic, proteomic and metabolomic measurements has already benefited target discovery and validation, assessment of efficacy and toxicity of compounds, identification of disease subgroups and the prediction of responses of individual patients. Greater benefits can be expected from the application of these technologies on a significantly larger scale; by simultaneously collecting diverse measurements from the same subjects or cell cultures; by exploiting the steadily improving quantitative accuracy of the technologies; and by interpreting the emerging data in the context of underlying biological models of increasing sophistication. In this paper, we outline the introduction about biopharmaceutical drug design and development including some definitions, a brief history of the field, and a look at the biotechnology industry, regulatory challenges, ethical issues. This paper also provides the current trends in biopharmaceutical drug divelopment. Moreover, we discuss the basic element technology of new drug discovery including nucleic acids, DNA, RNA, proteins, and gene expression in detail. We analyze the current research insight of biopharmaceutical drugs and their market trends. In addition, the present paper discusses more detail about biopharmaceutical drug development focusing on the development of bioartificial organs inculding cardiovascular system, cancer, central nervous system, respiratory system, metabolitic system, immune system and therapeutic vaccines.

The strongest international sanctions on North Korea is continuing unleashed by the 4 th nuclear test in January and long range missile launch in 2016. This is resulted from international consensus that North Korean nuclear issue cannot be solved by existing resolutions. North Korea¡¯s nuclear and missile threat is ahead of upcoming crisis situation to us. In this circumstance, it is necessary to thoroughly examine the current North Korean nuclear development and also analyze its foreign policy as appropriate countermeasures should be correctly considered. We cannot verify exact capability of North Korean nuclear and missile. It can only be assumed that North Korea secured considerable amount of nuclear materials through erstwhile nuclear tests and developed miniaturization and weight reduction of the nuclear warhead. While in case of long-range missiles, it seems not to seize re-entry technology of the nuclear warhead yet, but to reach a level to load them in the Rodong missiles. As a result, we need to prepare the countermeasures on the assumption that North Korea has secured the capability to directly strike us.North Korean foreign policy seems to be related to South Korea revolutionary line.Among three revolutionary lines, it is abusing the nuclear development for strengthening international revolutionary capabilities. North Korea insists that its nuclear development is just a means of self defense against US hostility against it and in order to resolve the fundamental problems, North Korea-US peace treaty should be signed, US Forces in Korea should be withdrawn, and ROK-US combined training should be discontinued.Nevertheless, US demands denuclearization prior to all other options. North Korean foreign relations not only with South Korea but also China, Russia, Japan and so on are on the skids.South Korea is directly connected to North Korean nuclear issue. We should realize the error of our understanding on North Korean nuclear issue and do all our best to induce its regime change.

The enterprise has been in interested in sustainment of competitivity predomination with core competence and has stressed the relationship between R&D management with core technology competence and business strategy especially in the field of R&D. After the third generation R&D management was introduced, R&D activity is not a black box, become a tool of managing performance of business. However, It is insufficient in the point that we didn't manage and evaluate the technology as knowledge asset. This study focuses on how to manage the knowledge efficiently, For this purpose this suggests new R&D management model that integrates knowledge process and system, and also verified this through performing pilot project. 1) knowledge cycle : knowledge acquisition, creation, store, use. 2) Organizing infrastructure : strategy, culture, knowlege worker, structure, evaluation system etc. 3) Technological infrastructure : network, collaborative system, data base etc. The major contribution value of this study is that firstly it is presenting the theoretical back ground of knowledge management on the review of related literatures and verifying model through case study. the contents of the case study are are below 1) identifying the knowledge conversion process. 2) the organizational infrastructure :the purposeful R&D, learning organization, evaluation system. 3) Knowledge management system using information technology in connection with collaborative system and engineering data base etc. The key factor introducing this model which presented by case study ahead is 1) firstly defining the goal of project adaptable to the purpose of business strategy with support from top manager, 2)secondly defining the knowledge conversion process and facilitating the organizational and techonological support accordingly. 3)And enhancing the learning activity continuously to maintain the value of knowledge contents and evaluate the performance of it's value. I think this kind of study must be magnified in the line of strengthening the core competence of whole business system to acquire sustainable competitivity. And I expect the future direction of these kinds of researches should be magnified to production and marketing fields as well as R&D fields.

This article suggests that DPRK¡¯s recent cooperative implementation of shutdown and disablement of its nuclear facilities forms a part of nuclear development strategy aiming to take the initiatives on the Korean Peninsula. From this perspective, DPRK¡¯s current status and the several controversial issues on the uranium enrichment will be reviewed. The author emphasizes that DPRK willingly abandon the Yongbyon facility but they keep strengthening its nuclear capability by pursuing a secret uranium enrichment program. Accordingly, all the policy to North Korea require re-examination taking their strategy into consideration.

This study is to investigate the structural relationships between technology commercialization competence(TCC), R&D capacity, market turbulence, innovation performance and export performance, focusing on the firms that introduce technologies from Government-funded Research Institutes in Daedeok Innopolis. PLS is used to test the relationships, using survey data. The survey was conducted for two weeks, January 2-15, 2014. The results of the study are derived as follows. First, a firm's TCC and R&D capacities have positive effects on its innovation performance. Second, market turbulence moderates the relationship between a firm¼s TCC and innovation performance, indicating that the market turbulence used as moderating variable positively affects its innovation performance. The study, however, finds that the market turbulence does not significantly moderate the relationship between firm's R&D capacity and its technological innovation performance, showing the different paths that a firm's R&D capacity independently affects its technological innovation performance. Third, a firm¼s innovation is a driving force behind its export performance, showing that its innovation positively involves its export performance. At the end, some practical implications based on the results of the study are addressed.
