The purpose of this study is
to suggest desirable directions of multicultural moraleducation in Korea in the light of the concepts of multicultural education andmulticultural moral education. First of all, in order to attain this purpose, the studyanalyzed concepts of multiculture, multicultural education and multicultural moraleducation. The analyses were performed by two aspects of word analysis based on theglossary of dictionary and situational analysis based on the socio-linguistic analysis.The academic meaning and the socio-linguistic meaning about multiculture,multicultural education are very different in many aspects. This study defined themeaning of multicultural moral education in the both aspects. Especially, themulticultural moral education in our schools needs to be defined in view of situationalanalysis. The problems of students from multicultural families with regard to moraleducation such as prejudice, bantering and discrimination can be solved from theapproach about multiculture, multicultural education and multicultural moraleducation. The ultimate goal of multicultural moral education should be the cultivationof global citizenship such as respect for equal human right, care and understandingabout difference, beauty of diversity, protection of the weak and virtue of cooperation,which are can be called 'open mind' or 'together mind'.   (ÀÌÇÏ »ý·«)
