The purpose of this research
is to analyze the characteristics of the trend of research onteacher education in Korea. For that purpose, I collected and analyzed 743 articles of'Korean Journal of Teacher Education' based on themes and methods of articles.From this research, I found the characteristics of themes of research on teacher educationin Korea as followings : 1) There are various sides of research on teacher education inKorea. 2) There are small in quantity of articles on directive teacher education. 3) There arenot divided between the research on teacher education and on teacher. 4) There are lack ofresearch on philosophy of teacher education. 5) There are more practical studies thanacademic studies on teahcer education.And I also found the characteristics of methods of research on teacher education in Koreaas followings : 1) There are various methods of research on teacher education. 2) There aremore quantitative studies than qualitative studies.I can get some hints for the development of the research on teacher education in Koreaas followings : 1) We have to establish the identity on the research of teacher education inKorea. 2) We should increase the researchers of teacher education in Korea. 3) We have toset up academic studies on teacher education. 4) We need to make the balance betweenquantitative studies and qualitative studies.
