This study aims at analyzing
the achievements of Korea¡¯s educational administrationwith 60 years of history in depth and seeking its development strategies. It classifiesthe field¡¯s accomplishments using normative, scientific and prescriptive approaches,and contemplates the achievements in terms of research outcomes and their effects,and measures in response to the national and social demands for educationaladministration studies.This paper recognizes the following three major achievements of educationaladministration in Korea. First, the field has strived to establish its academic identity,considering its interdisciplinary feature, by securing its own area to research andpractice. Second, it has laid the foundation for developing itself into a scientificdiscipline through an empirical approach. Third, the study has coped with thechallenges of certain eras, while Korea has transformed into modernized, democratized,and globalized country.The development strategies in the field of educational administration which thisstudy suggests are as follows: Diversifying its research perspectives; koreanizing thestudy; devoting constant efforts to cope with the educational problem actively.   (ÀÌÇÏ »ý·«)
