한부모 가정은 2010년 기준 국내 전체 가구형태의 약
9%를 차지하고 있으며(통계청, 2010) 이런 가정배경이 자녀의 교육적 결과에 부정적 요인으로 영향을 미치고 있다. 이런 교육불평등 문제를 해결하기 위한 방안 중 하나로 가정 내 사회적 자본에 대한 관심이 증대되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 선행연구들을 통해 한부모 가정의 사회적 자본을 결손된 가족구조 맥락에서 살펴보았다. 그 결과 한부모 가정은 양육자의 한 성이 부재함으로 인해 사회적 자본이 구조적으로 취약한 상태다. 그리고 주양육자의 성별 뿐 아니라 부모-자녀 성별조합에 따라서도 사회적 자본은 다른 양상으로 나타났다. 따라서 한부모 가정의 사회적 자본에 대한 교육적 개입 및 정책적 지원 시 부모-자녀 성별조합에 대한 고려가 필요할 것이다.
The single parent families ac
count for 9% of all family structures as of survey done by national statistics in 2010. And such a family background may have a negative effect on the achievement in education. Socail capital at home is attracting attention as one way to remove educational inequality. Therefore this study takes note of social capital in single parent families. This study examines how the poor structure of family influences the social capital in single-parent faimies through precedent studies. As a result, the social capital in single parent faimies is structural weaknesses because there is only one caregiver’s sex. And the social capital in single parent faimies follow a different pattern not only by the caregiver’s gender but also by the combinations of gender between parent and children. Therefore careful consideration should be given to the caregiver's gender and the combinations of gender between parent and children providing the educational intervention and political support for the social capital in single parent families.
