statement of purpose  by kil-dong hong  
my field of interest in electrical enginering is solid state electronics and thin films engineering, which was concerned with magnetoresistive ferromagnetic materials and conducting materials include al-1%si, al-1%so-0.5%cu were used in high density and high speed integrated circuits interconnections.i believe that the study of solid state electronics and thin film engineering included a good knowledge of the principle in electrical engineering, the application of characterization and technology used in manufacturing various microelectronic and electrical device.the detailed comprehension of thin film materials, the simulation and modeling of behaviours and characteristics and the improved processing technology are the stepping stone towards an advancement in the design of semiconductor device and other elecrical devices such as magnetoresistive head, magnetic recording media and microwave thin film device etc.having these thoughts in mind, my intensions are to broden my knowledge and to gain a deep understanding in solid state electronics and thin film engineering.
listed below are my past research experience and studies in solid state electronics and thin film engineering
1.a study on the new spin valve type nifeco/cu/nifeco/femn magnetic multilayered thin films with high magnetoresistance and low saturation field.

in addition to my background in solid state electronics and thin film engineering (b. s

and m. s

degree in electronic materials engineering at hankook university, seoul, korea. pre-master researcher course at division of metals in korea institute of science and technology), i have hands-on experience with circuit layout design and semiconductor processing, thermal and e-beam evaporator, magnetron sputting system, vsm(vibrating sample magnetometer) and various electronic equipments for measuring and testing

as i observe in intrinsic and extrinsic characteristics of various thin films, i have found it necessary to pursue further studies in electrical and electronic materials engineering. i strongly believe that by exploring in the world of thin film science and engineering, i can boost my abilities and ingenuity towards assessing and solving problems of other types of research


recently, electrical engineering, especially thin film engineering which was concerned with semiconductor processing and other applied devices has been one of the most significent fields for the development in our countrys technology. there is a high demand for research and development in our country with the intention of teaching and researching in the industries and in the education institutions   (ÀÌÇÏ »ý·«)
