비교구문이란? 비교구문은 형용사나 부사의 원급 ,비교급, 최상급을 이용하여 동등비교, 또는 우등비교 의 표현을 문장 중에 사용하여 비교의 표현을 만든다.
비교급과 최상급
① 형태: 형용사나 부사의 비교급은-(e)r 또는 more를 붙이고, 최상급은-(e)st 또는 most를 붙인다.
1음절 단어
-(e)r/-(e)st
fast-faster-fastest large-larger-largest 단모음단자음 단어 자음을 한번 더 쓰고-er/est hot-hotter-hottest big-bigger-biggest y로 끝나는 단어 y를 i로 바꾸고
-er/-est
happy-happier-happiest easy-easier-easiest
-ful,-ous,-ing,-ive 등으로 끝나는 대부분의 2음절 단어와 3음절 이상의 단어
단어의 앞에 more/most beautiful-more beautiful-most beautiful important-more important-most important useful-more useful-most useful 불규칙적으로 변하는 단어 many/much-more-most good/well-better-best bad/ill-worse-worst little-less-least
late-latter-last (순서) late-later-latest (시간)
② 비교급 문형: 형용사/부사 비교급 than～구문으로 형용사/부사 더~ 하다의 뜻임
ex) your cell phone looks better than mine.
ex) comic books are more interesting than computer games.
③ 최상급 문형: (the) 최상급 in/of/among 명사 구문으로 ‘가장 ~한/~하게’의 뜻임.
<대체로 부사의 최상급 앞에는 the를 안 쓰나, 형용사의 최상급 앞에는 the를 반드시 써야함.)
ex) he ran fastest among us.(부사의 최상급)
ex) robin is the tallest boy in my class.(형용사의 최상급)
④동등비교 (as원급as) :둘을 비교하여 정도와 양이 서로 비슷할 때
ex) tom is as tall as jane.(원급 비교) ex) im as heavy as the cats.
※주의 해야할 비교급 표현
1.비교급을 강조할 때는 much, even, far, still, a lot (very는 원급강조)
ex) she is much taller than her sister.(비교급 강조)
ex) she is very smart.(원급 강조)
2.prefer a to b (b보다 a를 더 좋아하다.) than 대신 to를 사용
ex) i prefer this coat to that one.
