-자전거 도둑-을 읽고

요즈음 우리 사회는 빈부격차가 더 늘어나고 있는 것 같다. 가난한 사람들이 늘어나고 그에 따라 단지 돈이라는 것 때문에 범죄가 발생하기도 한다

그 범죄 속에서 청소년의 범죄도 날로 늘어가고 있는게 사실이다. 자전거 도둑도 16살의 청소년이 저지른 일과 비슷하다


이 책의 주인공은 16살의 수남이다. 수남은 청계천 주변의 전기용품 도매상에서 점원 역할을 하고 있다

나와 같은 나이인데도 벌써 일을 해서 안쓰럽다. 어느 바람이 강한 날 수남이는 주인 영감님께 상회에 20w 형광램프 5개를 배달하는 심부름을 받았다

수남은 자전거를 세우고 들어가 돈을 받고 나오는데 어느 점잖은 신사가 수남의 자전거가 넘어져 자신의 차를 긁었다고 말하고 있다. 처음에는 수남이가 점잖은 신사라고 생각하길래 그 신사가 수남에게 거금 5 원을 달라고 한다

그러자 수남은 신사가 안 보는 사이에 자전거를 들고 도망간다. 그로 부터 며칠 뒤에 수남은 아버지께서 도둑질을 하지 말라고 하는 말을 떠올리고 주인 영감님을 떠나기로 한다

수남이는 나와 나이는 같지만 나보다 많은 경험을 하는 것 같다.
내가 만약 점잖은 신사였다면 수남이의 자전거가 낸 상처와 수남이의 처지를 들어보고 가난한 수남의 처지를 듣고 수남이에게 앞으로 더 조심해서 다니라는 충고만 해주고 넘어갔을 것 같다.
이 책을 보고 궁금한 점이 생겼다.책의 처음에 수남이가 서울의 청계천 주변의 전기 용품 도매상 점원으로 일 하는게 나오지만 끝에 가서야 수남이가 서울 올라오기 전이 있었는데 왜 그 부분을 앞 말고 뒤에 넣었을까?라는 의문이 든다.

소설을 읽기 전 제목을 보고 자전거를 훔친 수남이를 부정적인 시선으로 봤다. 그러나 책을 보고 난 후에 수남의 사정을 알게 되어 수남이를 보는 시선이 부정에서 긍정으로 바뀌게 된 것 같다

한번 더 읽어보면 좋을 것 같다.

if i was a gentleman and a decent sunam and sunam wounds of the bike, listen to the plight of the poor, listening to the plight of sunam sunam believe that the more carefully to the future seems to have gone to tell chunggoman.   (이하 생략)
