it is more important for universities to improve facilities (such as libraries, technology, and computer labs) than for them to hire famous professors.
roving facilities is more important than hiring renowned professors.although some people argue that famous professors can provide quality lecture to students, i agree with the idea that it is more significant for universities to focus on improving the facilities than hiring famous professors, regarding two reasons.

to begin with, a professor¡¯s fame is not an indicator of the quality of lecture and the possible benefits students will derive from them. in general, there can be many reasons for the professors becoming famous

for instance, some might have become famous because of the mere peculiarity of their argument, and some others could have focused only on the popular subject that are often spot-lighted regardless of their performance in their research or lecture. thus, it is irrational for universities to regard their fame as a standard for hiring professors in that it practically cannot guarantee the impacts they will give to students

in case of my sister, she attended a lecture of one of the most famous professors in the field of psychology, but was discontent with it as well as other students. she commented that the professor could not create a linkage with the student body, failing to effectively convey his argument

his explanation was also too vague and difficult for students to understand. as her case clearly illustrates, the fame should not be a definite criteria when hiring professors

practically, improving facilities have direct positive impact on students unlike the lectures of well-known professors. to explain this, when universities build larger libraries with greater amount of resources, this will give students more books to study with, as well as larger spaces for students to study in

in addition, when universities build more computer labs, fewer students will have to bring their own lab taps to school, and the professors can also utilize it during the lectures, improving the quality of the classes. for example, in korea university, they recently built more computer labs, and the satisfaction of both students and professors is great according to the survey done in school

in particular, an astronomy professor made students to utilize the program in computer that shows the rotation and movement of various satellites and stars on space, and also to build a special satellite of their own using a special internet program the professor invented. the mere increase in number of computers resulted improving the quality of the classes

thus, better facilities often result in better education.
in conclusion, i am in favor of the idea that it is more crucial for universities to put an emphasis on improving the facilities thanous practical benefits to whole student body.it will be wise for universities to remember these, and take into consideration when managing their budget.   (ÀÌÇÏ »ý·«)
