the purpose of this piping inspection procedure is to describe the inspection activities involved in the in process of an offshore project during shop fabrication and installation.
scope
this piping inspection procedure covers all necessary stages from procurement, material receipt, and storage, shop fabrication, installation of the pipe spools at the module site.also in process testing, inspection procedures and pre-commissioning are dealt with.
the methodology complied in this piping inspection procedure is to systematically progress through the entire piping construction phase.
experienced, inspectors may interpret the intent of the procedure to accommodate local or novel practices or to utilize the procedure for a one-off or alternative design of a piping spool. the alternative designs may be documented as site instruction, field engineering changes and shall be approved by the client
any such variations should be noted on the inspectors report.
this procedure is intended to act as a guide to the inspector in the course of the inspection programme.all tests and inspections shall be carried out to the approved engineering drawings, project specifications, project or company standards, and within the practices and rules of the country, state or province and any government legislation, decrees, laws, ordinance or regulation which may apply.
if any conflict or contradictions should be apparent in any of the above then the more onerous requirement will apply unless the client directs otherwise in writing.
