This study aims to carry out a comparative analysis of the colors featured in the ceremonial dresses of court lady in the Heian Period (794 to 1185). Therefore, the study chose the Heian Period as the object of analysis, since the people in that period expressed flamboyance and variety most by wearing kimonos many folds. In particular, the study was focused on the dresses of court lady, which showed the most colorful features in the period. For the aforementioned purpose, the study first classified the costumes by the official dresses and private dresses and carried out a comparative analysis of them, which drew out several characteristics. First, red was found to be a common color in both the official and private dresses, which indicates that red and purple were loved much by the noble people for its elegance and concern. Second, a distribution chart of colors revealed some differences between official and private dresses. While official dresses tended to employ brilliant colors with warm feelings, private dresses tended to use gloomy colors with cold feelings. It is also found that the private dresses used a variety of new colors and tried to make a freer arrangement of colors than the official dresses. Third, similar ways of color arrangement were found both in the official and private dresses, which showed little difference of gradation. In the same vein, the purplish blue used in the private dress was employed for sleeves, giving a rhythmical sense of color to the monotonousness of the red. By analyzing the distribution chart of the colors of the official and private dresses in the Heian Period, the study could examine the characteristics of each ceremonial dress and extraction of colors. And, based on the analysis, the study could derive the common and different features of the official and private dresses and define several peculiar characteristics of the colors featured in the ceremonial dresses of court lady in the Heian Period.

In this essay, I suggest poetical aspect, which is rather experimental, as a useful category ior constructing the history of modem Korean poetry. Since, up to now, the methodology of the history have been limited to partial ways such as rhyme, imagery and poetic theory and on some sides those ways are lack in constructing integrated history, Therefore, I think that poetical aspect, which is the combination of partiaJ poetical categories suel, as rhyme, imagery, the mood and tone, has some strong point to construct the integrated and composite history of poetry. Chong's late poelries, a Swallowtail, the Formal Dress, the Circus, showed new poetical aspect, the alienation in modern city which was easily founded in Korean novds and short stories of same age but it was seldom founded in Korean poetries in that era. Certainly Chong's alienation was not so deepen as that of Kim Soo Young in 1950s but it this some kind of seeds. A]lhough, then' have been no evidence for Chong's direct or indirect influelwe on Kim but in my though! the relationship between their poelries can be interpreted as historical progression of poetical aspects.

With the growth of churches, the scale of church finance has become larger, so the church accounting system should be changed for that reason. The role of church accounting is to classify the economic and financial activities of a church as a business account, and record and arrange them accordingly. And it also analyzes, verifies and reports the results. Church accounting is a non-profit, budgetary, fund, and cash basis accounting. This study analized the case of 'J church' in Seoul(Presbyterian church, unified) and focused on the financial reporting of the church accounting system. Through this research, some problems in church accounting system were identified as follows. First, a single entry bookkeeping system should be changed into a double entry system because nowadays churches are becoming larger. Second, accounting information should be open to the bublic especially to the congregation and an internet homepage should be created. Third, church accounting principle article 18 should be changed really. Fourth, the method of depreciation should be presented. Fifth, church accounting should be audited in order to certify that all the activities of the church are performed according to the regulations. Finally, the standards of foreign exchange accounting should be established so that we can coordinate an effective financial program with our missionary activities abroad. The suggestions listed above are ways to remove factors of waste and to effectively manage the church properties.

This study examines debated practical issues regarding licensing women to preach and their ordination in the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in Korea (GAPCK, Hapdong). It theologically analyzes pertinent biblical texts and offers a practical alternative suggestion to address current issues. Although the GAPCK has allowed female evangelists to preach in Sunday school, it has never licensed them to preach similarly to male evangelists or licensed preachers, which is mainly due to the application of biblical texts such as; ¡°Women should remain silent in the churches¡± (1 Cor. 14:34), ¡°I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man¡± (1 Tim. 2:12), and that the elder and the overseer should be ¡°the husband of but one wife¡± (1 Tim. 3:2; Titus 1:6). However, some theologians maintain that the Bible recounts the existence of female ministers who worked as preachers such as Miriam and Debora in the Old Testament, and Phoebe, Priscilla, and Junia in the New Testament. This essay re-interprets such texts inlight of the present praxis; the Korean government¡¯s policy of recruiting women chaplains, women¡¯s high educational levels, and the current need for women¡¯s ministry in some specific contexts.This article suggests that it is advisable to legitimize preaching for women evangelists who pass the qualification exam, since they have long been preaching in the tradition of the Korean Church. However, this study opposes women¡¯s ordination based on biblical teachings and the denomination¡¯s constitutional prohibitions.

The purpose of this study is to survey the reality of Sunday school programs for infants in The Presbyterian Church in Korea(PCK: kosin) in order to provide data base in vitalizing the current programs for infants in Sunday schools. The research subjects are ministers, teachers, parents. The results of the analysis were used to find ways to activate the Sunday school for infants. The study randomly selected 21 churches among the Presbyterian churches in Korea operating infant department, distributed electronic questionnaires to 21 ministers, 143 teachers, and 116 parents. The actual situation survey was conducted on the management of infant department, connection with home, worship and program, curriculum, activation plan, educational environment, and analyzed the factors affecting activation based on actual condition results. As a result, it was found that the level of activation according to external factors such as the number of attendance at church, number of attendance of infants, duration of operation, number of teachers, type of teaching materials and number of infants per teacher, There was no difference. On the other hand, there was a significant difference in the activation level according to educational environment factors such as ¡®environmental comfort¡¯, ¡®audiovisual data and playground equipment possessing and utilizing degree¡¯, ¡®sanitation level of snacks¡¯, and ¡®worship cleanness level¡¯. There was a significant difference in the activation level according to the internal factor ¡®communication with home¡¯, ¡®satisfaction of the textbook¡¯, ¡®worship and program satisfaction¡¯, and ¡®teacher education satisfaction¡¯. The results of the study are summarized as follows. The infant department is more active in providing an educational environment for infants, a higher level of communication with family members, higher satisfaction in lesson materials, worship, programs, and teacher education. This study is meaningful in that it examines the infant 's deprivation status and the factor of activation of infant' s deprivation based on the survey results.

This study focuses on the ideas that Chok-Du-Ri(Á·µÎ¸®)¤ýHwa-Gwan(È­°ü) are mentioned a substitute preventing abuses of luxury mood by Gache(°¡Ã¤) as the sharpest social problem at that time. First, the origin of Chok-Du-Ri(Á·µÎ¸®) was introduced from Ko-Ko-Gwan(°í°í°ü) of Mongo(¸ù°í) in Korea dynasty, then was linked to Chosun. That is, Ko-Ko(°í°í) started from headgear reflecting spiritual view of the northen people, its size was getting smaller passing through Ming(¸í) dynasty, its essential decoration changed and it carried out Jeon-Ja(ÀüÀÚ) remaining decoration nature by real accessories, then it might be descended to Chosun. Second, Hwa-Gwan(È­°ü) is very different from Nanaec(³­¾×) of Chosun Dynasty Records, rather Jeonia, the original form of Chok-Du-Ri, is more similar to it. Third, its decoration like color, jewel, pattern etc influenced wishes of this life like sex, prosperity, glory, longevity, blessing, wealth and fame. Fourth, Chok-Du-Ri(Á·µÎ¸®) was restored a substitute for Gache(°¡Ã¤), it was accessory for preventing luxury life, besides it was modeled from headgear in China, Chosun people had it. It is worthwhile as it was based on Chosun Sinocentrism(Á¶¼±ÁßÈ­ÁÖÀÇ) in the latter period of Chosun and made it the fruit of that age. Moreover, in those days Qing(û) society accepted the advanced culture and institutional profit of Qing(û) actually, social mood is that home and overseas policy was corrected in many parts, Chok-Du-Ri¤ýHwa-Gwan were mentioned a substitute of Gache, symbol of luxury. It shows one part of Practical Thougth that abolishes vanity and affectation and makes useful profits in the latter period of Chosun.

This study aims to find out whether the Man-Sa Evangelism Campaign had affected to the growth of the Presbyterian Church of Korea (PCK). The study takes statistical approaches of Church Growth theory. The ¡°Man-Sa Evangelism Campaign¡± was commenced by the denomination to become the size of four million memberships with ten thousand local churches, and a goal was set to have the double its size in twenty year, by 2012. For the first ten years, the movement has taken prioritizing evangelism and solely emphasizing the multiplication of the churches. From the year of 2002, ten years after the goal was started, the movement shifted its direction to more holistic approaches through a new faith movement called, ¡°Life-Saving Decade.¡± Finally, the denomination has created a balanced approach in evangelistic efforts. The study has shown that after twenty years of this campaign, the church membership has increased to 43.3%, and number of the churches to 64.6%. It shows that the evangelism campaign has contributed to the growth of the PCK denomination. Second, the later part of the movement from 2002 to 2012, when the holistic approaches were implemented, the numerical growth rates were more rapid than that of the previous ten years and proved to be more effective. Unfortunately, for church planting ministry, it turned out to be failure during this campaign. And the evangelism training school has played the role to continue fueling the zeal for evangelistic efforts of PCK denomination.
