The purpose of the study is to analyze the aspect of reading in secondary school students¡¯ reading reports and understand their way of reading to write reading reports. The following three questions are raised for this paper£º(1)How is the frequency of aspect of reading in the reading reports of secondary school students? (2)Are there differences between boys and girls in the reading reports of secondary school students? (3)Are there differences between genres in the reading reports of secondary school students?190 reading reports of 67 students are analyzed for this study. This content is categorized into 6 units, specific idea, general idea, finding out implicit idea based on text, general evaluation based on characteristics of text, response on a text and creative expression using schema.The result showed that text-based reading and response are frequent in the reading reports. Girls showed greater frequency than boys in the aspect of reading but there was no significant difference statistically. In genres, creative expression in literature and response in persuasive texts showed greater frequency. The aspect of reading in secondary school students¡¯ reading reports showed text-based reading and simple response, so it is necessary to teach many ways of reading for various thinking and good reading reports.

The purpose of the study is to analyze the aspect of reading in secondary school students¡¯ reading reports and understand their way of reading to write reading reports. The following three questions are raised for this paper£º(1)How is the frequency of aspect of reading in the reading reports of secondary school students? (2)Are there differences between boys and girls in the reading reports of secondary school students? (3)Are there differences between genres in the reading reports of secondary school students?190 reading reports of 67 students are analyzed for this study. This content is categorized into 6 units, specific idea, general idea, finding out implicit idea based on text, general evaluation based on characteristics of text, response on a text and creative expression using schema.The result showed that text-based reading and response are frequent in the reading reports. Girls showed greater frequency than boys in the aspect of reading but there was no significant difference statistically. In genres, creative expression in literature and response in persuasive texts showed greater frequency. The aspect of reading in secondary school students¡¯ reading reports showed text-based reading and simple response, so it is necessary to teach many ways of reading for various thinking and good reading reports.
