Oral literature an be underst
ood as oral philosophy. Oral philosophy appeared in advance of written philosophy and has played an important role alongside written philosophy. Referring to what has already been achieved in Africa, Polynesia, and some minorities of China, now it is time to study Korean oral philosophy in depth.
How this world was created? W
hat is the distinction between the distinguished and the mediocre, the clever and the stupid? Is mankind morally superior to animals? Why must the exalted mind be expressed in performance? These fundamental questions are discussed seriously in the various genres of oral literature, shaman songs, folk narrative, and folk drama.
Oral philosophy contributes m
uch in improving philosophical studies. As in the case of literature, the history of philosophy is also the history of the relationship between oral philosophy and written philosophy. The tradition of oral philosophy must actively utilized to create a new philosophy.   (ÀÌÇÏ »ý·«)
